Jump to:

Windows' native L2TP

1. On your proxy license page, select the L2TP VPN tab.

2. In Windows Settings, go to Network & Internet and select VPN on the left. Click Add a VPN connection.

3. Fill out the fields thusly:

VPN provider

Windows (built-in)

Connection name

Enter a name that is easy to reference, such as MobileHop

Server name or address

Enter the L2TP VPN Server IP/host URL from the license page, normally vpn.mobilehop.com

VPN type

L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key

Pre-shared key

Enter the L2TP Secret/Pre-Shared Key (PSK) from the license page

Type of sign-in info

User name and password

User name

Enter the L2TP Username from the license page

Password

Enter your proxy portal password, as you would to sign in at https://portal.mobilehop.com/

It should look similar to this when you're finished:

4. Click Save, but do not activate the VPN yet.

5. Scroll down and click Change adapter options.

6. Find the VPN adapter you created, right-click it, and select Properties.

7. Select the Security tab, tick the button next to Allow these protocols, and check the box next to Unencrypted password (PAP). Click OK.

  • You may see a warning message about including PAP and/or CHAP. Click Yes to continue.

8. Now you can go back to the VPN menu and connect to your proxy.

SoftEther VPN setup

From the SoftEther download page, most users should select from the dropdown menus:

Component: SoftEther VPN Client

Platform: Windows

CPU: Intel (x86 and x64)

1. From your proxy portal, download the SoftEther VPN Profile.

2. Double-click the softether.vpn file and accept the import file prompt.

3. In SoftEther, right-click the imported VPN profile and click Connect. Accept the UAC prompt if it appears.

You should now be connected to your MobileHop proxy by VPN.

OpenVPN Connect

1. From your proxy portal, download the OpenVPN Profile (UDP Default) and extract the .zip folder.

  • If you experience issues, try downloading the UDP Alternate profile instead.

2. Open OpenVPN Connect. Select Upload File, then Browse, and then navigate to the extracted folder and select the .ovpn file. Click Connect.

  • The included .conf file needs to be present in the same directory as the .ovpn file. Drag and drop will not work because it will not include the .conf file in the import.

3. On the first connection, you will see a warning about a missing external certificate. Simply check the box for Don't show again for this profile, and click Continue. You should now be connected to your proxy via VPN.

Alternative: OpenVPN GUI

1. From your proxy portal, download the OpenVPN Profile (UDP Default) and extract the .zip folder.

  • If you experience issues, try downloading the UDP Alternate profile instead.

2. Locate the main directory for OpenVPN, default should be
C:\Users\*Username*\OpenVPN

3. Drag and drop the extracted OpenVPN profile (include both the .ovpn and .conf files) into the config folder located in
C:\Users\*Username*\OpenVPN\config

4. Once the files have been moved into the config folder, open OpenVPN GUI and connect to the newly added profile.

You should now be connected to your MobileHop proxy by VPN.
