To set up a socks5 proxy on your Android phone, follow these steps:

  1. Download the SocksDroid latest release from the developer's GitHub https://github.com/bndeff/socksdroid/releases/

  2. Use the SOCKS5 Proxy IP information from your proxy portal (example below) to fill out the required information on SocksDroid. You will want to set the Server IP to the same as the SOCKS5 Proxy IP, and set the Server Port to 9000. (See the image at the end of this guide for an example of proper SocksDroid setup.)

    • IF YOU USE EASYPORT: Be sure you have enabled EasyPort in your proxy portal with the SOCKS5 proxy type (example below), and instead use the EasyPort URL (easyport.mobilehop.com) for the Server IP along with the port provided.
      ​

  3. Next, enable Username & Password Authentication, then set the Username as proxy and set the Password as whatever your proxy portal shows.
    ​

  4. Once the above steps are completed, toggle the button at the top to activate the SOCKS5 proxy connection. Your setup should look like the image below:
